Quick Turnaround Time
Turnaround times, as listed in our catalog, are achieved or exceeded 96% of the time, unless a problem with the specimen occurs. If specimen problems occur, you will be promptly notified.

Prepaid Shipping and Supplies
Our complimentary shipping kits provide you with the proper containers to simplify sending samples to Athena and to ensure that they arrive in good condition. These kits also contain prepaid Airborne shipping labels to enable rapid, free shipping to Athena.

Complimentary Preprinted Test Requisitions
If requested, Athena will preprint Test Requisition forms with your account number(s) and mailing address(es) to simplify the process of filling out these requisition forms.

Educational Programs provided by Athena include a video lending library, product and educational literature, educational in-services, and educational programs to support appropriate utilization of our testing services.

Our Laboratory Director/Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs is happy to help with any problems or questions regarding your patients that our Client Services Representatives cannot answer for you. In addition, our in-house genetic counselor offers information to physicians regarding the significance of positive test results.

Upon request, Athena will automatically fax result reports to your office to provide you with faster service.

Types of Synapse Programs

Instant Synapse
An Instant Synapse Contract is a pre-drawn agreement including our highest volume assays listed at a fixed price for one year. With this contract there is no negotiation necessary, and after the initial one-year term your contract will automatically renew with 5% annual price increases. No testing services can be added or removed from this contract.

Regular Synapse
A Regular Synapse Contract is negotiated with your sales representative specifically for the testing services that you require and is specialized to meet your needs. Pricing will take effect as soon as the approved contract is signed by all parties and returned to Athena. These contracts are typically one- or two-year agreements, which automatically renew at a 5% annual increase upon expiration of the initial term. In this way, no further negotiation is needed unless testing services need to be added or removed from the contract.

Pricing Agreement
A Pricing Agreement is a fixed-price agreement. All testing services offered on our testing schedule are offered to you at list price for the set term of the agreement and will not be subject to price increases. The term of this agreement is typically two years.
