Paraneoplastic Syndrome: Cancer Associated Retinopathy (CAR)
Case Study C A 63-year-old man with recently diagnosed prostate carcinoma complained of a darkening of vision. A positive reaction to the retinal CAR antigen suggested an autoimmune etiology for the idiopathic retinopathy. This prompted a referral to an ophthalmologist for available treatment of the retinopathy, in addition to concurrent cancer therapy. Learn more >>
