Paraneoplastic Syndrome: Cancer Associated Retinopathy (CAR)
Case Study A A 42-year-old man with a history of heavy smoking experienced unexplained vision loss over a period of one month. Consultation and a blood sample revealed positive reactivity with the retinal CAR antigen. Subsequent radiographical examination identified a small hilar mass that was biopsied by needle aspiration and identified as small cell carcinoma of the lung. Learn More >>
